Smoking, a family history of AMD, being overweight, and cardiovascular conditions are all risk factors for developing AMD. Also, it seems that women are at greater risk than men for developing AMD. Experiencing changes in your vision could be early signs of AMD. If you've answered 'yes' to some of the questions above, you should tell your ophthalmologist or retina specialist about your symptoms and schedule an eye exam.
